Do You Have Sickle Cell and Have Regular Pain Crisis or Blood Transfusions
REDRESS is a clinical research study investigating the use of stem cell transplant (also called bone marrow transplant) from half-matched family donors to treat people with severe sickle cell disorder.
A donor could be a close relative (e.g. parent, grown-up child, brother or sister) and donors can still have sickle cell trait.

Stem cell transplant is potential cure and could provide another treatment option for many with sickle cell
BUT we need more evidence that this works and is cost-worthy treatment. This is why we need to do this study.
