Haemoglobinopathy - 2-year Community Pilot across 5 boroughs in SW London
Central London Community Healthcare Trust haemoglobinopathy team have be funded to expand their service. This is a London sickle cell programme on a community pathway for Sickel cell and Thalassaemia patients. it is a 2-year pilot project to extend the service to 4 additional boroughs, the team was previously covering Wandsworth, now with the expansion we will be covering Kingston, Sutton, Merton and Richmond borough. This service expansion will be making the team of 2 staff into the team of 8 staff covering both Adult and paediatrics .
CLCH Haemoglobinopathy team have developed with parents and carers a coffee morning for parent to share experience and peer supports. The children and families have created their own T-shirt design, They have chosen a butterfly to symbolise how they have come from being in a cocoon especially during covid and now with he support of the group they have metamorphosized into a beautiful butterfly.
