Prescription savings campaign
You could save significantly on your prescription costs by using one of two cost-saving schemes: the Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) and the Low Income Scheme. These schemes are designed to ease the financial burden of regular prescriptions for people living with long-term conditions and those with lower incomes.
The campaign specifically targets:
- People with long-term conditions, especially those with Sickle Cell Disease, Asthma, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), HIV, Parkinson’s, and Multiple Sclerosis (MS), as well as people living in deprived areas.
- Healthcare staff, with a particular focus on GP practice teams and pharmacy staff who are well-placed to inform patients about these savings options.
- For those who frequently pay for prescriptions, the PPC can be a practical choice. If you pay for more than three items within three months or 11 items in a year, the PPC offers a fixed rate to help keep costs manageable. The Low Income Scheme also provides further support based on individual financial circumstances.
This campaign is here to make sure you’re informed about these options, so you can make the best choice for your health and your budget.
